Howdy,
After 30 days of 100 degree weather this year, this week didn't feel so bad. All the hot weather crops are loving the ample sun and high temperatures. Unfortunately, our tomatoes are unable to set fruit at temperatures over 92 degrees. The plants are 5'-6' tall but don't have any fruit. As soon as it cools off we hope they will start producing again. The chickens have slowed down their egg-laying also due to the heat.
This week at the market we will have the following: zucchini squash, basil, pecan tarts, fresh baked breads, canned goods, pestos, dried fruit, dried tomatoes and herb plants. Also at the market this week youll find okra, a few tomatoes, patty squash, hot and sweet peppers, herbs, eggplants, new potatoes, carrots, onions, slicing cucumbers, pickling cucumbers, cantaloupes and farm fresh, free-range eggs.
See you there!
We are located 2910 S. Congress (El Gallo Restaurant)
EVERY Saturday from 9am until 1pm.
